Using Social Media To Find A Job

Hello Again,

Using Social MediaTo Find A JobSorry I have been a little quiet recently, this is because i am actually helping some friends at a local recruitment company make some key and strategic hires at the moment.

They work in eCommerce and Marketing recruitment and it is interesting that I should come across a post on another blog about managing your social profile when you’re in job search mode. Some of the stats and information that come out of this article are quite stunning. For example did you know that 70% of hiring authorities (in the U.S to be fair) would make a hiring decision on something they see and how you portray yourself on your social media profiles. I was stunned by this figure.

So, as I recognise this is an area sorely lacking on this site…I thought I link back to the article as it’s one of the best I have seen on this new and important subject.

Click the link below and inwardly digest, it’s important.

Enjoy and use this as an integral part of your job search strategy.

Disruptive Innovators!

disruptive innovation to find me a jobYes, that’s what I thought when I first read about it :>)

I was searching through my “find a job” Google Alerts (as you do), when I came across this very…very interesting article by some Guys over at Harvard Business Review. Jeff Dyer and Hal Gregersen are Professors of Strategy at Brigham Young University and wrote this amazing piece about how to “skew” your thinking to help your job search. It really is a ugely interesting article and I recommend you read it if you are in job search mode at the moment.

I also think that the techniques they discuss can help in many other areas of your work as well

So, please go have a read…just click the link below.
